LONGWOOD MEDICAL OFFICE RENOVATION
The Longwood Medical Area (LMA) is a world-class medical and academic center located between Brookline and Mission Hill. The LMA features a mix of dense state-of-the-art hospital buildings, attractive college facilities, and apartment housing in Boston, Massachusetts.
Renovation of this long established pediatric practice in the Longwood Medical area, included an in–depth analysis of current work flow which resulted in recommended process changes to improve patient circulation. Maximizing space and utilization, not to mention a constricted space and a historic building tracing back from the 1920’s – this renovation is quite a challenge for the architect on the job – Lavallee, Brensinger Architects. The design ultimately streamlines processes, promotes collaboration, and allows for more providers with fewer exam rooms and accommodates a progressive model of primary care within a limited space and outdated space. A high velocity mini duct system is provided for a unique solution for the practice’s first central air conditioning.

Multi-colored, geometric wall boasts different hues of orange, blue, green helps bring the space up to date. The Psychology of the color – Blue for interior design has been shown to lower blood pressure and heart rate, also creates a cool and clear look.
The psychological effects of green color to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere within the space , very soothing to the eye and nature gives us a lot of nuances combined with Orange which has the same psychological effects to that of the colors mentioned thus, used in the interiors. Using white as the overall color maintaining the entire space neat and clean.
