The days of cubicle areas and divided offices are numbered, if not a distant memory. KPMG is a professional service that offers three lines of services: financial audit, tax, and advisory. The company is also one of the Big Four auditors along with Deloitte, Ernst & Young (EY), and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The company wanted to drift away from the traditional workplace from the past and revamp their office building located in Vancouver, Canada.

KPMG turned to Kasian to revitalize it’s office space. The area is 160,000 square feet with 7 floors to fill in including way-finding services. The main focus of the KPMG office was collaboration and was looking for a fresh new start for their office , a space that would encourage teamwork and collaboration.

Companies in this generation are increasingly opting for more open, fluid workspaces, complete with shared tables, comfortable couches and cozy reading nooks. Many forward-thinking organizations are recognizing the value of collaboration in the workplace as two heads are better than one. For this KPMG office design, comfortable couches, interesting tiled and colorful geometric designed walls are visible everywhere. Glass doors and partition provide transparency and allows optimal amounts of natural light to pass through therefore, unleashing high energy efficiency.

Recessed lighting has been used all over the space to add warmth to the office with a modern look with the use of white making it look crisp and clean. To maximize space, careful thought was put into material and furniture selection, choosing to use demountable walls to increase flexibility of spaces.
