Ora, the Nursery of the Future is a nursery in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, a world-class learning experience for young children ranging from age groups as early as 2months up to 3years designed by Roar – an award-winning interior design studio based in Dubai that launched in 2013 as Pallavi Dean Interiors and rebranded as Roar in September 2018.

Guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ora spearheads early-childhood development from Dubai. Through pioneering and innovative Zayed Early-Learning Framework, Ora prepares young people to lead the future of the UAE and the world. This program is part of the UAE Government’s suite of programs and initiatives that focuses on the UAE 2071 vision for innovation.

With this challenge, the design team had to create a future forward space that will shape young minds, creating a world class learning experience exposed to innovation and futurism which is not a very easy task to do. Modern interiors and futuristic pieces have been carefully handpicked for the space putting safety and comfort as the main priority as well. White has been chosen as the main palette that serves as a backdrop for all the elements inside the space. Recessed lighting, featured ceilings on rooms, and curved walls that create a visual impression and character to the space.

There are different rooms designed by the team, one of which was a playroom with physical activities installed in the room that would stimulate the children’s playful minds. Unlike other early childhood centers that use bold, bright colors, the spaces screams more of futurism using one particular area of the room like the ceiling and use it as a focal point of their design.
